On Saturday, February 8th 2025, representatives from the Nanung Development Agenda, a renowned group dedicated to the development of Nanung, visited the family of Abdul Mateen in Nakpayili, his hometown. Abdul Mateen is a 3 years old boy born with congenital conditions which requires multiple surgeries and rehabilitation in India with a treatment cost of $23,000 which is approximately GH¢350,000.
The visit aimed to encourage Abdul Mateen's parents and family to prioritize his well-being and not give up, especially during this critical period. During the visit, the group presented an undisclosed amount of Money to support Abdul Mateen's medical treatment in India.
JB Dandawa, a presenter at Radio Bimbilla, and Hon. Awulatu, former Assembly Member for Madina Electoral Area, represented the Nanung Development Agenda. Dibsi Regent, Nakpayili Assembly Member, received the presentation on behalf of the family.
Notably, Abdul Mateen and his parents currently reside in Tamale, where they have access to medical facilities while continuing with the fundraising efforts for his treatment abroad.
The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Nanung Development Agenda for their support and assured them that the funds would be used appropriately. They also encouraged other organizations and groups to join the fundraiser.
