Naglogu Care Foundation Leads the Way with Impactful Cerebral Palsy Awareness Programme at Cheshe

In a remarkable show of commitment to disability advocacy and community empowerment, Naglogu Care Foundation (NCF) on Friday June 20th, successfully organized a Cerebral Palsy Awareness Programme at Cheshe Community in the Tamale Metropolis. The event brought together families, community leaders, stakeholders, and volunteers in a united effort to shed light on the realities of living with Cerebral Palsy.

Held under the theme “Raising Awareness; educating people about Cerebral Palsy, its effects and the needs of individuals with the condition,” the event featured a range of activities including community engagement sessions, a community durbar, and strategic stakeholder discussions aimed at driving sustainable support for individuals and families affected by Cerebral Palsy.

Naglogu Care Foundation, a reputable nonprofit dedicated to promoting inclusion and providing care for marginalized communities, continues to champion the rights and well-being of children living with disabilities, especially Cerebral Palsy. Through this awareness programme, the Foundation created a safe and informative space for parents to share experiences, health professionals to educate the public, and community members to deepen their understanding of the condition.

The event saw the active participation of various partners, including Hereafter Ghana, Tiyumba Hope Foundation, Girls to Women Foundation, Nyuriba Rehabilitation Center, Abdul Mateen Support Initiative - AMSI, health practitioners, traditional authorities, school authorities and dedicated volunteers. This collaboration with NCF demonstrates the power of collective action in advocating for disability rights and improving lives.

Community members were sensitized on early detection, caregiving techniques, and the importance of social inclusion. Stakeholders also discussed policies and practical measures to ensure that children with Cerebral Palsy have access to quality healthcare, education, and community support systems.

Naglogu Care Foundation has once again proven that grassroots advocacy, when done with compassion and collaboration, can spark meaningful change and break down the stigma surrounding disability.

As the Foundation looks forward to future programs, they continue to call on individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to join hands in supporting children living with Cerebral Palsy and their families.
