“Walk with Radia” Tamale Hosts Ghana’s First-Ever World Cerebral Palsy Day Awareness Walk

Last Sunday, Tamale witnessed a historic and inspiring event as the first-ever “Walk with Radia” took place to mark World Cerebral Palsy Day. The walk aimed to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy (CP), its effects, and the importance of care, inclusion, and understanding for individuals living with the condition.

The event, organized by Naglogu Care Foundation, brought together a wide range of participants and supporters, including Dr. Seidu Fiter, the Lamashagu Keepfit Club, Tamale Offline Hangout, representatives from the Ghana Police Service, Zaa TV, Joy TV, as well as members of various youth groups and Disability Association and many others.

Starting from the Police Park in Tamale, participants marched with passion and purpose, carrying placards that shared messages of love, inclusion, and awareness. The walk was not just a show of solidarity — it was a statement of hope and a call to end the stigma and misconceptions surrounding Cerebral Palsy.

“Walk with Radia” is named after Radia, a young woman living with Cerebral Palsy who has become a voice for disability awareness and inclusion in Northern Ghana. Her courage and advocacy continue to inspire many to see ability beyond disability.

The success of this first-of-its-kind event marks a major milestone for disability inclusion in Ghana. It showcased what can be achieved when communities, institutions, and individuals come together with compassion and purpose.

Sheidy Online commends Naglogu Care Foundation and all partners for their dedication in making the walk a reality. Indeed, “Walk with Radia” has set the pace for a more inclusive society where every individual regardless of ability is valued and supported.

Inclusion begins with awareness. Let’s keep walking for love, acceptance, and change.
