Nakpayili Community Day Senior High School is set for a long-awaited revival as the District Chief Executive (DCE) has announced major plans to complete and expand the school’s abandoned infrastructure.
The announcement was made at the Dibsi Palace in the presence of the Regent, elders, community leaders and members who gathered to hear the new direction for the school. According to the DCE, the government has approved the completion of the existing classroom block which was constructed years ago but left unused alongside the development of new facilities including modern dormitories, a standard dining hall, teachers’ quarters and other essential structures.
The project has not yet been commissioned, but the contractor is expected to arrive soon to begin the necessary groundwork.
The abandoned classroom block has been a major concern for the community, as its incomplete state has limited the school’s ability to operate fully and serve the growing number of students. The new administration’s commitment to finishing this structure, together with the new facilities, has been warmly welcomed. Once completed, the combined infrastructure is expected to transform the school into a fully functional and competitive institution, capable of providing improved learning conditions and better support for both students and teachers.
At the Dibsi Palace, the Regent and elders expressed appreciation for the renewed attention given to the school. Community members also shared their optimism, noting that the completion of the classroom block and the addition of boarding and accommodation facilities will reduce daily commuting challenges, strengthen discipline, and create a more conducive academic environment. Many residents pledged their readiness to support the project through communal labour and cooperation to ensure smooth progress once construction begins.
Although the project is still at its preparatory stage, the DCE assured the gathering that the assembly is committed to seeing it through. The community now looks forward to the contractor’s arrival and the commencement of work, which will pave the way for the official commissioning of the completed school infrastructure.
Sheidy Online will continue to follow the developments closely and provide updates as the project progresses.
