The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bimbilla Constituency, Mbow Mohammed, has officially withdrawn his resignation and announced his return to office.
In a formal rejoinder dated 19th May 2026 and addressed to the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP in Tamale, Chairman Mbow Mohammed stated that he had reconsidered his earlier decision to step down and would resume his duties effective 20th May 2026.
According to the statement, the decision followed what he described as “overwhelming interventions, appeals, and encouragement” from party faithful across all levels of the NPP structure — from polling station executives to national leadership.
He noted that the continuous demonstrations of confidence, concern, and commitment to party unity greatly influenced his decision to return.
The chairman also expressed profound appreciation to the Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, for his leadership, support, and commitment towards reconciliation and unity within the party.
He emphasized that after careful reflection, he had come to appreciate the need to place the collective interest of the party above personal considerations, especially as the NPP prepares towards the 2028 general elections.
“It is therefore in the supreme interest of the party, the constituency, and our shared vision towards victory in the 2028 general elections and beyond that I accept the calls to return and continue serving in my capacity as Constituency Chairman,” portions of the statement read.
The Bimbilla NPP Chairman further reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals, unity, growth, and electoral success of the party, pledging to work collaboratively with stakeholders at every level.
He concluded by thanking party members and sympathizers for their prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support during the period of his resignation.
