[Bimbilla] Reggae Lovers Gave Their Shocking Reasons for Supporting Bob Marley and Marijuana Legalization

A cross section of Bimbilla reggae lovers on Saturday February 6 2022 celebrated the birthday of a Jamaican singer, songwriter & musician named Robert Nesta Marley.

Bob Marley who converted to Rastafarianism in the 1960s was a vocal advocate for the legalization of marijuana.

Owing to this concept of Marijuana legalization, Nanung Media paid a visit to most of the ghettos within Bimbilla that seemed to have had some great interest in marijuana smoking. Although being a rastafarian doesn't offer you the legal license to partake in 'feeling irie' but most of the youth have been made to believe so.

The first ghetto members who seemed to be displeased about our visit narrates that, the celebration of Robert Nesta Marley only comes with the smoking of marijuana but nothing else. Hence they wished they could practically demonstrate it.

Asking them questions pertaining to who a rastafarian is, got some funny answers which has nothing to write home about. All they could say was that, they admire smoking & the speaking of Patwah.

Meanwhile, the Chairman for the Advocacy Committee of Rastafarian Council of Ghana, President Khex clarifies that, being a rastafarian doesn't guarantee you to fall prey to the smoking of marijuana. Though they strongly defend marijuana as a special weed that are of immense benefit to society.

However, the 77th birthday celebration of the great musician witnessed Bead FM & Radio Bimbilla celebrating it in a grand style as a woman named Ayishetu sang the songs of the legendary with DJ Lavish via phone in segment on Radio Bimbilla.

The great legendary was born on February 6, 1945 but died of skin cancer on May 11, 1981.
