See! Water Pollution at Wampu Dam by "Humans" and Animals

Water is a very important essential mineral effective for our growth and development. Whiles others used it for domestic purposes like bathing, cooking and washing, some prefer using it for industrial reasons.

It is interesting to note that, Bimbilla, a farming community within the Nanumba North Municipality largely depends on a dam for survival. The Wampu dam which is about 20 acres of land provides portable water for more than a population of 141,584 residents. It is used as a potential source for drinking, irrigation and constructional purposes.

A visit to the Wampu dam by Nanung Media witnessed some herd of cattle grazing and drinking from the dam, human excreta and cow dung were equally spotted around the banks of the dam. Persons were seen walking in and out of the dam with their bare foots. A 12years old girl was pictured urinating within the banks of the river. Upon all the following detected activities, drivers had to use their water tankers to fetch that same water for the communities' domestic purposes.

Yet when sicknesses begin to knock on their door stairs, they are the very people who wrongly point accusing fingers to their natives : whilst some are very quick in limiting the blame unto the hands of the creator.

Meanwhile, as people with a common destiny, We must begin to understand that, constantly praying and asking the lord for the mercies of good health & long life will never yield a positive result, should We fail to use our brain to play the role for which it has been created for.
