The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nanumba South, who also doubles as the Central Government Representative, Honourable Abdul Rashid Musah, on Monday, August 18th hosted two important traditional delegations at the Nanumba South District Assembly.
The first was the Regent of the Sunkule Traditional Area, Naa Osman Salifu Wumbei, who paid a working visit to the Assembly. His visit was aimed at monitoring and acknowledging the progress of work under the leadership of Honourable Abdul Rashid Musah and in line with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s “Reset Agenda.” As part of his engagement, the Regent also interacted with staff of the Assembly and inspected ongoing activities.
On the other hand, the Regent of Nakpayili delegated a team from the Dachamba Traditional Area to pay a courtesy call on the DCE. This delegation was led by Dibsi Gbungbalga Lana, Dibsi Mob-Naa, the Assembly Member for Nakpayili Electoral Area, Hon. Abdul Wahab, the Assembly Member for Binda Electoral Area, Hon. Seidu Mohammed Iddrisu, and a representative of the Nakpayili Development Forum (NDF), Mr. Alhassan Shei.
The Dachamba delegation expressed their appreciation to the DCE for his dedication to completing and preparing for the handover of the Community Day Senior High School at Nakpayili. Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Abdul Wahab emphasized the urgency of finalizing processes for the school’s official commissioning. He further called for the school’s operational model to be tailored to the specific educational needs of the Nakpayili community.
In addition, he highlighted other pressing community concerns, including: Renovation of schools and market stalls, Improving water supply to the local health center, Provision of an additional transformer to stabilize electricity.
In his response, Honourable Abdul Rashid Musah reassured the traditional authorities that all necessary processes regarding the school were progressing well. He explained that the final operational model of the school, whether as a Senior High Technical School, a Girls’ Model School, or a subject-biased institution would be carefully considered to serve the best interests of the community. He further pledged that the final decision would be duly communicated to the Regent and elders of Nakpayili.
The visit showcased the strong collaboration between traditional authorities and the District Assembly in ensuring the development needs of Nanumba South communities are addressed with commitment and transparency.
