Apply Now: RAINS Opens Applications for SEAL Project Second Cohort for Women and Youth



The Regional Advisory Information and Network Systems (RAINS) has officially announced the launch of the second cohort of the Strengthening Employability, Agency and Livelihoods (SEAL) Project, creating fresh opportunities for young women and youth in Northern Ghana to acquire practical skills and build sustainable livelihoods.


Following the successful implementation of the first cohort, the project is expanding its reach to support young women aged 15–25 in the Nanumba South District and young people aged 15–35 in the Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality.


The SEAL Project seeks to equip participants with practical skills, confidence, and support systems necessary for employment and entrepreneurship. The initiative is designed to improve employability while creating pathways to economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.


Participants selected for the programme will benefit from:

- Free vocational, technical and soft skills training

- Apprenticeship and mentorship opportunities

- Start-up support and certification

- Job linkages and business opportunities


Training opportunities are tailored to the needs of participants in each location.

For young women in Nanumba South District, available training areas include:

- Hair Braiding and Make-Up Design

- Soap and Detergent Production

- Sandals Making

- Baking and Pastry


For youth in Tamale Metro and Sagnarigu Municipality, the training areas include:

- Plumbing

- Tile Laying

- Electrical Installation

- POP (Plaster of Paris) and Ceiling Works


The opportunity is open to young people who are out of school, unemployed, or interested in learning a skill and improving their craft.


RAINS continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering young people, especially women, through initiatives that create access to decent work, economic opportunities, and improved well-being.
