Nanumba Youth Association (NAYA) Calls On President Mahama for Inclusion in Leadership of Ruling Government.

As the dust settles on the recent elections in Ghana, the Nanumba Youth Association (NAYA) is calling on the government to address a long-standing issue of representation. In a letter to President John Dramani Mahama, NAYA's Vice President, Alhaji Alhassan Nantogmah, appealed for inclusion in leadership from the ruling government.

The letter emphasizes that the Northern Region of Ghana is anchored on two historic pillars: the Dagbon and Nanung Kingdoms. While the Dagbon Kingdom has consistently been represented in the government, the Nanung Kingdom remains conspicuously absent. This disparity is not only seen as a source of concern for the people of Nanung but also risks undermining the unity and collective purpose of the region.

The plea also acknowledges that the Nanumba people have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). They also noted that the community is home to seasoned professionals, academics, legal minds, and grassroots champions whose contributions have enriched both the party and the nation. Despite this, the Nanung Kingdom remains without representation in the government.

The Association implores President Mahama to extend his legacy of bridging divides and uplifting marginalized voices to the Nanung Kingdom. Inclusion is not a favor; it is a democratic right and a step toward harnessing Ghana's full potential. We urge the government to take concrete steps to address this disparity and ensure that the Nanung Kingdom is represented in the government.

As a Youth group, they believe that inclusion is not only a moral imperative but also a necessary step toward building a more just and equitable society. They also wish to call on all stakeholders to join us in our efforts to promote inclusion and representation for the Nanung Kingdom. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our voices are heard.

All concerned members are invited to share their thoughts and opinions on this issue. How do you think the government can address the disparity in representation?

  2. It is a brilliant idea that has been hell by the leadership of NAYA. As time goes on it has come to the notice that our part of the region has not only been neglected but has been humpback so we edged His excellency to look onto our phases
